Volunteering with PROSDOMA was magical, as I got to learn the different ways of statistics, the data presentation, research methodologies and the best part was working closely with Mabel and Dr Godfrey. Their enthusiasm, dedication and friendly nature would always be remembered. Additionally, my role as volunteer for the grant writing proposal task for the flood victims in Northern Pakistan, fuelled up my compassion for humanitarian work, the urge for serving others selflessly. I am looking forward to more such tasks. It was a wonderful experience.

Volunteering with PROSDOMA has been a meaningful experience aligned with my values around education, sustainability, and community impact. My role involved creating social media content by summarising educational and informational articles related to PROSDOMA’s mission, transforming them into engaging visuals, and managing content posting.

Through this work, I supported PROSDOMA’s efforts to raise awareness about sustainable development, climate action, eco-friendly farming, and community empowerment in Cameroon, while also highlighting the organisation’s commitment to supporting newcomers in Canada with settlement, job search, and integration services. It was rewarding to contribute to an organisation that bridges environmental action with humanitarian support across continents.

A Message to Those Considering Volunteering

I would highly recommend volunteering with PROSDOMA to anyone looking to make a positive impact. It’s an opportunity to use your skills for meaningful causes, contribute to both environmental sustainability and social inclusion, and be part of a mission-driven organisation working to build resilient communities in Africa and Canada.

Working with Prosdoma was a genuinely meaningful experience. I contributed to the grant proposal writing and storytelling projects for climate displacement victims.
This work deepened my understanding of climate-induced displacement and the power of storytelling in driving policy and funding decisions. Beyond skills, it gave me perspective and a sense of purpose. If you’re thinking about volunteering, don’t overthink it. These roles offer real responsibility, real learning, and the chance to contribute to work that truly matters.

I have been volunteering with various organizations for many years. Volunteering plays an important role in my life because I strongly believe that giving back helps make the world a better place. Each year, I choose different initiatives and do my best to support the organizations as effectively as possible.
Many years ago, I emigrated from Poland to the Netherlands, and I understand how challenging it can be to start a new life in a different country. Prosdoma’s vision and mission deeply resonate with me, as the organization supports refugees as well as communities in Africa in building better lives and achieving their goals.
I truly enjoyed volunteering for Prosdoma in every aspect. It was a fulfilling and rewarding experience to use my skills and support the organization in the best way I could.
