Vision

In the next 10 years, Promotion of Sustainable Development in Donga-Mantung Association(PROSDOMA) envisions a future where both newcomers to Alberta, Canada and Rural communities in Africa thrive through sustainable practices ,inclusivity and empowerment. We aim to build a robust support system that helps newcomers successfully settle and integrate into Canadian society, connecting them to essential services like job assistance ,legal aid, food banks, shelters and tax support. Our goal is for newcomers to not only feel welcomed but to actively contribute to their communities, enriching Canada's diverse fabric.
In Africa, PROSDOMA envisions transforming agricultural practices by promoting sustainable farming techiques and food security. We strive to empower local communities through improved crop production, water conservation and rural development initiatives thereby fostering economic growth and environmental resilience. In the coming decade, we plan to engage more stakeholders, governments, NGO's and businesses towards a unified approach to sustainable agriculture.
A key aspect of our mission is environmental protection. Over the years, PROSDOMA has planted more than one million trees to combat climate change and protect the environment. As we move forward, we are committed in expanding this initiative and implementing even more powerful projects to address environmental challenges. Our vision is to create resilient, sustainable communities, both in Canada and Africa, where people have the resources, support , and knowledge to thrive. Through these efforts, PROSDOMA aims to make a lasting , positive impact on the environment and society for generations to come.

Our Mission

Promotion of Sustainable development in Donga-Mantung Association(PROSDOMA) is committed to assisting newcomers in Alberta, Canada, by offering essential services to support their settlement and integration. Our mission is to connect newcomers with vital resources such as a job search assistance, asylum and permanent residency applications, and access to legal aid. We also train newcomers on basic computer skills. We link individuals to facilities like food and shelters to help meet their basic needs. Additionally, we provide support for individual tax filing, ensuring newcomers have the tools to navigate their new environment effectively.
PROSDOMA advocates for climate change awareness and sustainable practices, working to promote environmental responsibility within the community. In Africa, we extend our efforts to support agricultural development, food security and sustainable farming practices. Through promoting food and crop production, we aim to foster long-term economic growth and environmental sustainability in rural communities.
Our mission is centered on creating a bridge for newcomers to integrate successfully into Canadian society while simultaneously empowering African communities through sustainable agricultural practices. By fostering both social and environmental sustainability, PROSDOMA strives to build a resilient and inclusive future for both newcomers and local communities across continents.

What We Do

Our Objectives

The objectives of Promotion of Sustainable development in Donga-Mantung Association(PROSDOMA) are centered on supporting newcomers in Alberta, Canada and fostering sustainable development in Africa. Our primary goals are:

1. Newcomer Support and Integration: To provide comprehensive assistance to newcomers settling in Alberta by linking them to vital resources such as job search services asylum and permanent residency application support and legal aid. We aim to ensure newcomers have access to food banks, shelters and social services, helping them integrate smoothly into Canadian society.
2. Sustainable Agricultural Development: In Africa, PROSDOMA is dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture by introducing modern farming techniques, improving crop production and enhancing food security. Our objective is to empower rural communities, improve livelihoods and contribute to long-term economic growth through environmentally sustainable practices.
3. Environmental Protection and Advocacy: PROSDOMA is committed to protecting the environment through tree planting, conservation initiatives and climate change advocacy. Having already planted over 1 million trees, our objective is to expand our environmental projects and encourage greater community participation in protecting natural resources.
4. Capacity Building and Education: To enhance the capacity of both individuals and communities through education and training programs that promote self-reliance. This includes skill development, agricultural training and awareness campaigns on environmental sustainability and climate change.
5. Collaborative Partnership: We aim to strengthen partnerships with local governments, NGOs and businesses in both Canada and Africa to create a more unified approach to achieving sustainable development goals and addressing the needs of communities.

Volunteer Opportunities

Whether you’re passionate about hands-on community work, environmental education, or innovative solutions, your time and skills can help create a healthier planet and empowered communities.

PROSDOMA is actively seeking both online and onsite volunteers to support our mission of helping newcomers settle in Alberta and promoting sustainable development in Africa. Volunteers play a crucial role in advancing our work, and we invite individuals with a passion for community service, environmental protection and social development to join us.
Office Volunteers can assist in a variety of essential tasks including task filing support for newcomers, organizing computer training programs and providing job search skills guidance. Volunteers can also help newcomers navigate asylum applications and permanent residency processes, offering valuable assistance in their settlement journey. Additionally volunteers can help draft and implement climate change advocacy programs, ensuring that our environmental protection efforts continue to grow.

Office Staff Volunteers are also needed to apply for grants, ensuring the continuation of our programs and services. Administrative support such answering phone calls, responding to emails, and assisting with secretariat functions is also essential for smooth operation of PROSDOMA.

Social Media Volunteers Will play an important role in maintaining our online presence. Volunteers will assist with managing our social media pages , sharing updates on our programs, raising awareness about climate change, and promoting our volunteer opportunities and community initiatives.

In addition to volunteers, PROSDOMA is seeking strategic partners-local businesses, organizations and government bodies to collaborate on projects that foster sustainable development and assist newcomers. Partners can contribute by providing resources , expertise and funding to help expand our impact and support our mission.

Together with the support of volunteers and partners, we can continue building inclusive ,resilient communities in Alberta and Africa.
